The NYC-based University Plaza Nursery School Orange Room (4 and 5 year olds) will learn about jazz throughout the week of April 25, culminating in a jazz-themed music class on April 29. The children will do jazz crafts, listen to kid-friendly jazz music, do a scavenger hunt, read a story about jazz, learn about jazz music's origins and its historical importance, and see a real vinyl jazz record. The goal of the programming is for the children to emerge with a greater understanding about why jazz has been a significant musical movement throughout its history, and a sense of what makes it a unique and important musical genre.
