Friday, April 29th is Duke Ellington’s birthday and also happens to be the same weekend celebrating International Dance Day and International Jazz Day. The Novel Jazz Septet will be celebrating all three events with a birthday party for the Duke plus a jazz dance at Frontier!

The Novel Jazz Septet is a Maine-based group, now in their 18th year of concerts around New England. Their mission is to share the music and stories of the iconic Duke Ellington and his equally iconic musical collaborator, Billy Strayhorn, who, together wrote some 3,000 compositions over their musical careers. For this special birthday party, the music will be all-about dancing…so dust off your dance shoes and pull out your best party clothes for the Duke and Novel!
