The Portland Conservatory of Music, WMPG & Jazz At The Movies & are excited to present
George Schuller’s documentary film, “Modern Jazz Quartet: From Residency to Legacy” at The Portland Conservatory of Music on April 30th, 7 PM, with a Q&A with the drummer, composer & filmmaker George Schuller afterwards. An intimate portrait of the MJQ and the Music Inn in Lenox, MA , his film features music and interviews with Percy Heath, John Lewis, Dave Brubeck, Ornette Coleman and many others. Author Gary Giddins called it "one of the most entertaining jazz films ever made, and "A must see".
