International Jazz Day at The Betsy Hotel is the culminating event for the 10th Annual Overture to Overtown (OTO) Jazz Festival, presented in celebration of National Jazz Appreciation Month (“JAM”). The day begins with solo jazz pianist Brian Murphy out on the Ocean Drive Promenade from 11 AM to 4 PM. Our headliner is an appearance by legacy jazz pianist Danny Mixon from 6 pm to 9 pm in the Betsy’s Lobby followed by The Aaron Burnett Trio from 9 to midnight. The Betsy will also feature an exhibition by Leonor Anthony entitled, SOUNDS OF FREEDOM focusing on the transcendent nature of jazz. Digital images curated by Rosie Gordon-Wallace will be projected onto The Betsy Orb, a unique canvas for digital projection.
