Celebrate International Jazz Day at the Healthy West Orange Arts & Heritage Center at the historic Town of Oakland with live jazz music on the porch featuring the Eighth Note Collective from 3-6 p.m. on April 29th. There will be Jazz Fest posters on display, jazz history panels, and interactive activities. About the artists: Florida native Derrick Harris, a trombone player since age 11, is a member of the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Jazz Orchestra. Jose Figueroa-Bass, born and raised in Puerto Rico, carries the low end for many groups and in many different styles. Robert Bradley, from Chicago, IL, started playing percussion in church at age 7 and is now a multi-instrumentalist with groups playing almost any genre of music.
