NEA Jazz Master Billy Hart comes to the SJZ Break Room to give a free master class at 5pm, then performs with renowned bassist & producer Tarus Mateen and up-and-coming pianist Joe Warner.

Billy Hart is one of the most sought-after jazz drummers of his generation, able to perform in diverse contexts ranging from straight-ahead to avant-garde to pop. Over his 66-year professional career, he has toured and recorded with some of the most influential jazz musicians of all time: Wes Montgomery, Pharoah Sanders, Wayne Shorter, McCoy Tyner, Joe Zawinul, Herbie Hancock, and Miles Davis.
