Join us on the birthday of jazz icon Duke Ellington, for a concert from 1-2:30 PM celebrating youth in Jazz today. WE GOT THAT SWING! brings together some of the most gifted young musicians and singers from across the city in performance with legends. This special collaboration between Harlem School of the Arts and Jazz Power Initiative (JPI) is part of JPI’s ongoing series Intergenerational Jazz Power Jam and includes participation by violinist Curtis Stewart, the newly appointed Artistic Director of the American Composers Orchestra and HSA Alum, Bob Stewart, the world-renowned tuba player and educator, HSA's Advanced Jazz Band, the LaGuardia High School Jazz Band, and Harlem Samba - a Brazilian percussion ensemble.
