César Filiú Douglas Trío es un proyecto singular que aúna la tradición del folklore cubano y la vanguardia del jazz contemporáneo. Se trata de una formación compuesta exclusivamente por artistas cubanos, que trae una música fresca y llena de energía, a la par que sofisticada y actual. La idea original del líder, César Filiú, surge a partir de una revisioón del patrimonio musical cubano. Era algo bastante habitual que se interpretase mu´sica tradicional en formato trío, como ocurri´a con el famoso Tri´o Matamoros.

It is a group made up exclusively of Cuban artists, who bring fresh and energetic music, as well as sophisticated and current. The original idea of the leader, César Filiú, arises from a review of the Cuban musical heritage. It was quite common for traditional music to be played in a trio format, as was the case with the famous Tri'o Matamoros.
