Jazz Live at the Library – International Jazz Day Concert featuring Paladin
04/30 17:00
Lexington , KY
Paladin will be performing for the Jazz Arts Foundation at the downtown Lexington, KY library. Paladin is led by trumpeter James Poole III. James is joined by Mark Gardner/piano, Tom Covello/contrabass and Paul Deatherage/Drums. The music of Paladin is influenced greatly by New Orleans style Jazz as James Poole III is a native of New Orleans. James says the name Paladin and how he chose the instruments in the quartet is based on his approach to creating art which involves using traditional sensibilities as a construct, but infusing those constructs with progressive creative thoughts or intentions from a personal perspective. He calls it "Organa" or the living music.
