The Tucson Jazz Music Foundation in partnership with The Century Room Jazz Club in Hotel Congress is sponsoring a DOUBLE CELEBRATION — Intl Dance Day & Intl Jazz Day — on Wednesday, April 30th (since 2011) in partnership with The Century Room & Hotel Congress on their PLAZA 6 pm until 10 pm. International Dance Day falls on April 29th (since 1982), so why not celebrate them both! We’re making the connection with a Big Band Era theme where Swing dance and Lindy Hop dancing thrived. Our special guest from Minneapolis Naomi Uyama — musician, dancer, and band leader of HER HANDSOME DEVILS – will be teaching a beginner dance class at 6 pm followed by the Tucson Jazz Institute Ellington Big Band! Naomi & Devils perform until 10 pm.
