A seminal climb from the chair of music director for Betty Carter, a turn as a member of Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers, a member of Freddie Hubbard’s Band, all the incarnations of leading his own bands while stepping in as a side man for everyone from Ray Brown, Oscar Peterson, Terrance Blanchard, Buster Williams, Lewis Nash & countless others…Benny IS one of the preeminent curator & archivist of the American Jazz Catalogue.
