The Nyumburu Cultural Center at the University of Maryland College Park serves the black and other minority population at the institution providing the hub for student, staff, and faculty social, cultural, and intellectual interaction. Among the many programs Nyumburu offers, we offer a Jazz Club. I, Adrien Gomez, am the student coordinator of the club and we perform purely voluntarily for various events on campus, one of which is Maryland Day which happens to fall a few days before International Jazz Day. Along with Dr. Ronald Zeigler, the Director of the Nyumburu Cultural Center and its Jazz Club, are hoping to present a video recording of our event to be apart of the International Jazz Day or have the event added to the calendar.
