John Lander est un pianiste et multi instrumentiste, artiste multi-cartes, né et élevé à Brooklyn, NYC. Il se forme à New York dès le plus jeune âge, des jams sessions qu’il anime pendant cinq années au Caffe Vivaldi dans le West Village, jusqu’au Lincoln Center ou au Birdland, en passant par des institutions telles que la Julliard School of Music. C'est son travail avec la danse qui l’amène à Lyon en 2021, engagé par l’Opéra. Dans son exploration de la ville et de la scène jazz, il fait vite la rencontre de Valentin puis Marcel. La connexion humaine et musicale est immédiatement riche et excitante ; la réunion, singulière. John et Marcel jettent plusieurs compositions, auxquelles s’ajoutent des standards aux différentes couleurs du jazz.

John Lander is a pianist and multi-instrumentalist, multi-card artist, born and raised in Brooklyn, NYC. He trained in New York from an early age, from the jam sessions he hosted for five years at Caffe Vivaldi in the West Village, to Lincoln Center or Birdland, passing through institutions such as the Julliard School of Music. It was his work with dance that brought him to Lyon in 2021, hired by the Opera. In his exploration of the city and the jazz scene, he quickly met Valentin and then Marcel. The human and musical connection is immediately rich and exciting; the meeting, unique. John and Marcel throw in several compositions, to which are added standards in the different colors of jazz.
