Saxophonist Helena Kay presents a duo project of originals & standards with pianist Pete Johnstone to celebrate International Jazz Day
Helena Kay grew up in Perth, Scotland & started out in the Fife Youth Jazz Orchestra.
She moved to London in 2012 to study at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, graduating in 2016 with a First Class in BMus Jazz (Hons)
In 2015 she won the Young Scottish Jazz Musician of the Year award & in 2017 won the Peter Whittingham Jazz Award which she used to record & release her debut album Moon Palace.
Pete Johnstone graduated from the RCS Jazz Course and received the Young Scottish Jazz Musician of the Year award in 2012, a Yamaha Jazz scholarship in 2013 and recently a Gleneagles scholarship
