Best of Bossa Nova

04/30 19:30

Albany

In-Person

This international Jazz Day, Jazztrix’ La Fiesta Quintet teams up with vocalist Louise McKenna to bring you the best of Bossa Nova, at Spectrum Theatre. Bossa Nova is a style of Samba that developed in Brazil in the 1950s and 1960s – adding syncopated rhythm and unconventional or jazz chords. Composers and performers such as Antonio Carlos Jobim and Viniscius de Moraes, João Giiberto, Toquinho, Asrtud Gilberto, and Stan Getz championed the new sound in its heyday. You’ll hear golden hits such as Girl from Ipanema, One Note Samba, Wave, and Besamé Mucho, alongside niché and original pieces. You can hear Jazztrix ‘Best of Bossa Nova’ at Spectrum Theatre, Proudlove Parade, Kinjarling-Albany, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday 30th of April 2022.
