International JAZZ DAY Celebration

Tucson Jazz Music Foundation in partnership with The Century Room and Hotel Congress with support from the Arizona Commission on the Arts present a three-day celebration of both International Dance and Jazz Days on April 30th, 6-10 pm, with an outdoor Big Band Swing Era themed dance event on the hotel’s Plaza. Tucson Jazz Institute Ellington Big Band directed by Brice Winston performs at 7:30 pm followed by special guest NAOMI UYAMA & Her Handsome Devils 8:30-10pm. Naomi is an award-winning Lindy Hop champion dancer, dance educator, vocalist and bandleader from Minneapolis. She tours with her band. Since last year’s celebration she has toured Sweden, Paris, Seoul and played at festivals in California and her hometown of Minneapolis.
