Vincent York has performed this unforgettable educational program, JAZZistry to over 550 schools, helping people connect to American history and culture. JAZZistry is a multi-media educational program using live performance to teach the story of jazz, that uniquely American art form, cherished by the world. The equation Jazz + History + Artistry = Jazzistry describes the overarching philosophy of the program. The lively show, full of music, pictures, and stories told by metro Detroit’s best professional musicians, K-12 students and adults of all ages are introduced to 400 years of history and cultural roots that are embodied in all American music: jazz.
