The Jonathan Lorentz Group performs jazz, blues, original compositions, and spontaneous improvisations inspired by the sounds of the 1940s–60s. Led by tenor saxophonist Jonathan “Lockjaw” Lorentz, the band features Jason Palmer (trumpet), Tom Robinson (piano), Brendan Dowd (bass), and Tim Gilmore (drums). Lorentz, who holds a PhD in Jazz & Contemporary Music Studies from NYU, has helped grow New Hampshire’s jazz scene since 2011, producing more than 200 concerts statewide. His album Borderlands received international airplay and critical acclaim. Join us for this intimate Listening Room experience at The Loft at Hermit Woods. The performance will also be broadcast live on YouTube and Facebook. Doors open at 6:00, show at 7:00.
