Pérez, quien se desempeñó como Embajador de Buena Voluntad de UNICEF, ha recibido premios por sus logros musicales, activismo y esfuerzos de trabajo social.
Recibió Beca de los Estados Unidos 2018 y el Premio Smithsonian Legacy 2009.
Actualmente se desempeña como Artista por la Paz de la UNESCO, Embajador Cultural en la República de Panamá, Fundador y Director Artístico del Festival de Jazz de Panamá y del Berklee Global Jazz Institute en el Berklee College of Music de Boston.

Interview by Daniel Mariscal with Danilo Pérez, Panamanian pianist, composer, jazz player and educator at Bajo Fondo Radio Club.

Pérez, who served as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, has received awards for his musical achievements, activism and social work efforts. He received the 2018 United States Fellowship and the 2009 Smithsonian Legacy Award. He currently serves as UNESCO Artist for Peace, Cultural Ambassador in the Republic of Panama, Founder and Artistic Director of the Panama Jazz Festival and the Berklee Global Jazz Institute at the Berklee College of Music in Boston.
