Ohana Jazz is a monthly performance put on by Noel & Liane Okimoto. It is held at the Musicians’ Association of Hawaii Local 677, Studio 909. It was started in October 2022 and features Tommy James – piano, Allen Won – saxophones, Dean Taba – bass, Abe Lagrimas Jr. – vibraphone, and Noel Okimoto on drums.
At every performance students are welcomed to sit-in to have the experience of not only listening to professional jazz musicians but also playing along side with them.
Every performance has a theme such as a particular artist, composer, style of jazz etc. We have not repeated a program in over three years.
