A turning point for jazz in the UK was the recording of three seminal jazz albums by sax and sitar proponents, Joe Harriott and John Mayer. Both immigrants into the UK, they maintained a passion for the roots of their music and we’re brought together to create The Indo Jazz Suite and two follow-up recordings “Indo Jazz Fusions 1 & 2”

The National Jazz Archive is the only UK’s jazz charities showcasing jazz music in all it’s forms and being truly representative of the art, the culture and cultures-plural that write, perform and enjoy jazz music.

With this in mind, we’re very excited to host the students and alumni of the Royal Academy of Music performing with Mayer’s son Jonathan, to recreate cool sounds from these genre-bending albums
