Jazz na Caixa day 1 – Concerto Vozes do EJE + O Canto das Sereias

The Eixo do Jazz has been promoting Jazz weekends in non-urban areas in a circle we call Jazz na Caixa ( in the Box). This means that the audience shares the stage (box) and is very close to the musicians. Usually the public engages in a conversation with the musicians after the concert while drinking a glass of champagne.
This weekend is a lot about women in jazz and also the release of a new project called Vozes do EJE (voices from Eixo do Jazz Ensemble) where the Portuguese and Galician Jazz songs will be arranged into a jazz choir. On Saturday we will have two concerts, one of Vozes and the other by a Galician Double Bass player - Yudit Almeida- ensemble called O Canto das Sereias (The Siren Songs).
