Malaysian swing jazz combo The Frankie Sixes premieres a lindy hop music video for their newly released first single off their upcoming debut EP on YouTube. The music video, in line with International Jazz Day, features 100+ lindy hop dancers across 12 countries dancing to an original Malaysian swing jazz tune composed by vocalist, lyricist and band leader Reza Salleh together with pianist and arranger Hin Ee Jeng. The single, titled "Tepuk Amai-Amai" touches on the nostalgia of growing up in the 80s and 90s whilst centered on a classic Malay lullaby. The band hopes to use the vehicle of self expression that is jazz to explore more stories rooted in Malaysia, offering listeners something both personal and yet relatable.
