"Around the Birth of the Cool" is the title of this tribute by the Gran Canaria Big Band to the legendary Miles Davis and his nonet. They highlight the great influence he had on later composers and arrangers, already reflected in the album "Birth of the Cool." A work in which Davis and his musicians blended the sounds of jazz with instruments more present in classical music, with a result that had never been heard before. To recreate these songs, Gran Canaria Big Band conducted meticulous research, which highlights the importance of this album and this group in the history of music.
