Tottori JAZZ is a jazz festival that has been held since 2011 with jazz pianist Himiko Kikuchi as the executive committee chairperson.
It strives to promote and educate people about jazz through various jazz events.
In 2019, they started an exchange program with the Detroit Jazz Festival (DJF).
In 2022, bands formed by Himiko and DJF President Chris Collins, among others, performed at each other's festivals and conducted workshops.
This year, Tottori Jazz will open on April 28, followed by "Tottori Machinaka Jazz" on April 29, "Jazz Day Commemorative Concert" on April 30, and workshops and live performances by "DJF Generation Band" on May 6 and 7.
