The Ioannis Vafeas Quartet started in 2018 as a trio of three jazz musicians who have contributed the most to the establishment of jazz in Cyprus. Marios Toumbas on piano, Michael Messios on double bass and Ioannis Vafeas on drums. All three have played in various ensembles with local and foreign artists, dating back to their student days at Berklee College of Music. Since then they have been performing, recording, composing and teaching music. The Ioannis Vafeas Quartet aims to open new musical horizons for each of its members. The result is a joy for the four musicians and they wish the same for their audience.
