The third Doesburg edition of International Jazz Day literally shows how jazz breaks through musical styles and backgrounds. Trio On a Different Tack (Dutch: Over Een Andere Boeg) performs in an unusual lineup of drums, trumpet and Turkish saz.

In the first set, the trio takes its audience on an adventurous journey from Arabic to classical music and everything in between. The third set focuses on jazz-pop and classic jazz. On a Different Tack is a ‘boundless trio connected by music’. The Blue Train Jazz Quartet will perform songs that represent the musicians' first introduction to jazz music, like Straight No Chaiser, A Night in Tunisia or Worksong. The unifying factor in the event is drummer Jonathan Nobel, who put together the program.
