Discussion on sustaining music festivals in southern Africa

The UNESCO Regional Office for Southern Africa in partnership with Ngoma Nehosho, organisers of the annual Jabulani Jazz Festival will host a discussion on sustaining music festivals in Southern Africa on 29 April 2022 in Harare, Zimbabwe. The discussion will be held as part of this year’s International Jazz Day and in the framework of the 2022 Jabulani Jazz Festival.
Panellists who include festival organisers, music producers, media and culture experts will explore various topics including challenges facing cultural and arts festivals such as the COVID-19 pandemic and declining financial support. The main thrust will be on sharing knowledge that can foster the sustainability of music festivals.
