We have been celebrating International Jazz Day in Whanganui, Aotearoa New Zealand since becoming aware of it in 2018. Our Musical Director, Dr Roger Fox, is unable to do the work this year due to circumstances beyond his control. We are so fortunate to have Geoff Culverwell step up to run the afternoon workshop where he will mentor high school music students in the art of jazz improvisation. Students will perform what they have practiced in the afternoon with Geoff and his musicians in the evening public concert.
Geoff will be accompanied by his V S O P Quartet - Tippi Bevan on guitar, Berndt Reiss on bass and Ryan Watson on drums.
