This concert, commissioned by the Famalicão Municipality, will be part of the official celebrations of the 50th anniversary of April 25, Liberation Day, and will happen outdoors in front of the town hall. Music was part of the 25th of April revolution. Two protest songs were the triggers for the beginning of the revolution.
Well known Portuguese Jazz musician AP arranged a selection of these protest songs in a jazz style, and directed the Eixo do Jazz Ensemble with musicians of his choosing. This concert will feature AP (guitar), Clara Lacerda (piano), Teresinha Sarmento and Ana Luísa Marques (voices), Diego Alonso (tenor sax), Rafael Gomes (baritone sax), João Pedro Dias (trumpet), Yudit Almeida (double bass) and Gonçalo Ribeiro (drums).
