Dimitris Kalantzis Quintet – “Whisper Not” A tribute to Benny Golson

On International Jazz Day (April 30), Half Note Jazz Club presents the Dimitris Kalantzis Quintet in a special tribute to Benny Golson, one of the great composers and saxophonists of modern jazz. Dimitris Kalantzis (piano/arrangements), Andreas Polyzogopoulos (trumpet), Antonis Andreou (trombone), Panagiotis Themas (drums) and Giorgos Georgiadis (bass) perform classics such as Whisper Not, I Remember Clifford, Killer Joe and Along Came Betty. With inspired arrangements, expressive solos and a warm ensemble sound, the concert honors Golson’s lyrical voice, celebrates jazz history and brings its living spirit to the Athens stage, offering audiences a night of elegance, swing, memory and creative dialogue between tradition and today.
