Jazz Playground is a family-oriented workshop introducing children to jazz from the very earliest age. Inspired by the We Bop programme, it emphasises children's natural improvisation, creativity, movement, singing, percussion and storytelling.
The core belief behind the project is that children, with their natural curiosity and openness, are the perfect audience for jazz. The programme aims to make jazz accessible to everyone, rejecting the idea that it should be an elitist experience. Sessions (45–60 min) are led by an educator with live musicians, incorporating songs, storytelling, movement and percussion. The programme is tailored to different age grups: Baby Jazz Jammers 0–2 years and Family Groovers 3-6 years.
