Verona
On International Jazz Day, Teatro Ristori hosts a special tribute to Miles Davis with Eddie Henderson, the legendary trumpeter and flugelhorn player who helped shape modern jazz. Born in New York in 1940, Henderson studied music at the San Francisco Conservatory and medicine at Howard University, later working as a psychiatrist and university lecturer alongside his musical career. He has shared stages with Herbie Hancock, Art Blakey, McCoy Tyner and Benny Golson, blending classic swing with contemporary edge. The evening also features the screening of Dr. Eddie Henderson: Uncommon Genius, revealing the man behind the horn. Line-up: Piero Odorici (sax), Danny Grissett (piano), Doug Weiss (TBC, bass), Mike Clark (drums).
