WHANGANUI CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL JAZZ DAY
04/30 19:00
Whanganui
Welcome to our eighth annual celebration of IJD. Whanganui has championed this UNESCO initiative since 2018 by introducing our student population to the wonders of jazz music. This year’s theme is once again - It’s all about our Rangatahi, our Youth. They are our future and we want to give them every opportunity to find joy in what they do and to dream of a bright future for themselves and their communities. Our musical Director for the second successive year following last year’s great success is the talented James Tait-Jamieson. James has assembled an all star cast of music tutors to mentor some fifty high school students in an afternoon workshop. Both tutors and students perform in an evening public concer that showcases their work .
