TAKAMATSU MUSIC BLUE FESTIVAL

This large-scale outdoor music festival in Takamatsu began as a fundraising effort for the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. Over the years, it has invited renowned Japanese jazz musicians, including Terumasa Hino, as well as Latin, world music, and pop artists. At the same time, many community units perform on street corners, enveloping the city in a variety of musical genres. It fosters natural encounters between music and people, just as they would have been. For 16 years, the festival has aimed to spread communication and tolerance throughout the city, transcending community and age boundaries.
