Sunil Lopez, pianist and composer from Vigo, who from a very young age came into contact with local and European musicians of his generation and actively participated in the national and international jazz scene. His compositions and his way of playing are characterized by being the expression of a personal and unmistakable voice, in which we hear influences from bebop, hardbop and contemporary music.
In 2025, his first album as a leader, ‘Smoke Gets In Your Eyes’, was released, with Joan Codina on bass and Genius Wesley on drums, with original themes that stand out for simplicity and clarity of melodies,their freshness, and presence of lyricism and a narrative quality.
