Formed to mark the 100th anniversary of Miles Davis’s birth, this ensemble does more than pay tribute to one of the greatest innovators in jazz history. It reimagines his legacy from a fresh perspective: the concept of the project is a contemporary European interpretation of the Miles Davis oeuvre.
The five outstanding musicians reflect, in their own artistic languages, on material drawn from different periods of the Davis repertoire, placing emphasis on collective improvisation, open forms, and a present-tense approach to performance. The result is not a reconstruction, but living, breathing music—Miles’s spirit reinterpreted within a contemporary European jazz context.
