Jazz Brunch ‘Following Čiurlionis’
04/30 11:45
Vilnius
A special edition of the annual event “Jazz Brunch” will mark two meaningful occasions: International Jazz Day and the 150th anniversary of M. K. Čiurlionis, celebrated globally in association with UNESCO.
The program will feature jazz interpretations of Čiurlionis’ piano preludes, arranged and performed by acclaimed Lithuanian jazz musicians: saxophonist Jan Maksimovič and pianist Dmitrij Golovanov. Their performance creates a dialogue between classical music and contemporary jazz, reimagining Čiurlionis’ compositions through improvisational forms while preserving the authenticity, harmony, and musical language of his work. Both performers are also dedicated educators known for their distinctive artistic vision and passion for music.
