Straight from the Berlin scene, in celebration of International Jazz Day, we welcome the Insomnia Brass Band trio - one of the most exciting jazz ensembles in Europe.
This "miniature" brass band, featuring Anke Lucks, Almut Schlichting, and Christian Marien, masterfully juggles shifting roles, constantly switching between rhythm and melody. Their musical journey takes you through a captivating landscape of free jazz, funk, and punk rock, all the way to the legendary traditions of New Orleans brass bands.
Though there are only three of them, they sound like a full orchestra. Their performance is more than just a concert; it is a true celebration of improvisation and creativity - the very essence of International Jazz Day.
