Her remarkable career spanned more than six decades, from the 1930s to the 1990s, performing with legendary musicians and big bands such as Chick Webb, Count Basie, and Duke Ellington. Known for her unique voice, radiant musicality, and unmistakable scat style, she remains a symbol of elegance and virtuosity.
