Umtiza Arts Festival's celebration of International Jazz Day in Buffalo City is now in its third installment as a precursor to the main festival. Staged at the beautiful Stirling Auditorium which is easily the best and most suitable venue designed and built for Jazz, this year's International Jazz Day is more symbolic since the city's designation as a UNESCO Creative City of Literature and will launch the Inaugural Buffalo City Big Band of 2024 which will play the South African Songbook and feature an intergenerational and diverse mix of musicians and original South African compositions. This ensemble launch will be followed by a Jazz and Pizza Thursdays Jam on 02/05/24. A second concert will take place during Umtiza's programme - 01/06/24.
