Sheffield is a musical city. Perhaps best known for Rock & Electronica - Arctic Monkeys, Def Leppard, Pulp, The Human League, and Bring Me the Horizon, ABC, Cabaret Voltaire, Heaven 17 & more. Sheffield’s Jazz Scene is busy, with weekly gigs at the award winning Jazz at the Lescar, multiple venues with Sheffield Jazz and much more Sheffield Jazz Workshop has had 80+ participants for 40+ years. More recently, Footprints Jazz has developed a range of inclusive events, artist development programmes and local festivals for jazz and improvised music.
Next Steps Jam is a progression opportunity in a very specific space, a performance jam, giving more experienced jazz musicians opportunities to take the lead and extend their playing.
