International Jazz Day in KANAZAWA 2026

Kanazawa City has been working in close public–private partnership to establish itself as a “City of Jazz,” through initiatives such as the and the development of jazz talent among junior high and high school students.
In Japan, the early May holiday period—commonly known as —provides an ideal opportunity to showcase jazz to a wider audience. In alignment with this timing, the event has been held annually since 2013 to actively promote the appeal of jazz from Kanazawa.
Each year, volunteers from Kanazawa and across Japan come together in support of , sharing the appeal of jazz with both residents and visitors.
