THE UKRAINIAN/HAWAII 2024 POETRY/JAZZ PROJECT
The musicians of Hawaii’s acclaimed RED NOVA - Peter Shaindlin, Flugelhorn | Randy Wong, Bass | Jay Jaskot, Drums - Open Flow jazz ensemble have united with the 2024 New Odyssey poetry festival contest of Odesa, Ukraine to bring the words and wisdom of children in Odesa to the world through an inspiring performance suite filmed half way across the globe in America, sister nation in the pursuit of ongoing freedom for all.
New Odyssey was initiated by Ilya Kaminsky (USA) and the Odesa UNESCO City of Literature Office. It is hoped that the truthful and innocent voices of these children will be heard round the world.
