Preservation Hall Lessons
The Preservation Hall Foundation created Preservation Hall Lessons, a free online education resource developed by the musicians of the Hall, the French Quarter home for traditional New Orleans music since 1961. Teachers and music educators of K-12 students will learn the origins of Traditional New Orleans Jazz, stylistic tips, and instrument techniques that immerse students in the city’s unique musical traditions. The collection of free lesson plans includes videos, presentations, song lyrics, and sheet music – so you can cue up a lesson at any time. Whether you are a music, math, or history teacher, there’s always a place for New Orleans music in the classroom!
