April 30th is International Jazz Day. V+W's Wednesday Archipelago will make an exception and land on a Thursday. One whole night. Jazz only. You can play:
- Jazz standards, bebop, cool jazz, fusion
- Your own original jazz composition
- A cover reinvented as jazz
- Free improvisation
- A poem spoken over jazz chords
- A five-minute talk on jazz history — that counts too
Everything else stays the same — solo, duo, group, spontaneous lineup. 15 to 30 minutes per act. Free entry.
Three Thousand Jazz Records Behind You! whether you're here to perform or just here to listen — pick one, play it, and musicians may improvise. Performers sign up via WeChat lwlw69 or email [email protected]. Audience just come, grab a drink, and listen.
