This year, jazz legend Toots Thielemans would have turned 100. Guitarist and harmonica player known all over the world, this "ket" from Brussels has marked the history of Belgium and inspired many generations of jazz musicians all over the world. The Jazz Station and Les Lundis d’Hortense are joining forces to make April 30, 2022 a day dedicated to the enormous legacy that Toots Thielemans left us. One of the best ways to celebrate International Jazz Day!
Five musicians, women and men from different generations have been invited to revisit Toots’ repertoire in their own way, to bring his music back to the essence of jazz: in the explosive and joyful intimacy of a jazz club, and in the purest Brussels tradition. On the menu, unknown compositions, found by Michel Herr, ex-pianist of Toots, and arranged by artists with diverse influences and sensitivities. Past and future come together for an evening to highlight our musical heritage: that which is already well anchored in our memories and that, still fresh, of generations to come. A tribute, but also a window open to the future.

Broadcast live on the radio RTBF MUSIQ’3.

Co-produced by the Jazz Station and Les Lundis d’Hortense.
