The Mahidol University Jazz Orchestra [MJO] was initially formed in 2003 by jazz studies students at Mahidol University conducted and directed by Dr. Joseph Bowman and under the advice of Dr. Gene Aitken. Its first public debut was in 2004 at the auditorium of Siam Motors Building - a home of Siam Music Yamaha Co., Ltd. MJO continuously develops its performing skills with various leading conductors including Shuichi Komiyama, David Hart, Udo Van Boven, and Hashem Assadullahi. In 2007, MJO has been honored to perform at Chiayi Music Festival 2007-2008, Taiwan ROC, JAZZED IN SIBERIA 2023 and recently participated in the Fourth Thailand International Jazz Conference [TIJC] 2015 and Jazz in The Park with MJO at Santi Chai Prakan Park 2013.
