The international competition I Am a Jazzman! is aimed at discovering and supporting young talents both in Azerbaijan and around the world. The competition gala concert and award ceremony are traditionally held on April 30 – International Jazz Day. This day symbolizes unity within the jazz community, and for young performers, it becomes especially meaningful as they feel part of a global movement. That is why the organizers of the Baku Jazz Festival schedule the competition for April and dedicate it to Jazz Day.
“I am immensely happy that jazz continues to thrive in Azerbaijan and that we are discovering new names that will one day shine in the starry sky,” noted Rain Sultanov, founder of the Baku Jazz Festival.
