Celebrate International Jazz Day in Toronto with a night of legendary selections from the iconic Blue Note Records jazz label, featuring jazz iconoclast BROWNMAN ALI and an all-star cast of Toronto’s top-tier players, re-imagining these innovative Blue Note arrangements through the lens of electric-jazz, as Miles Davis might have done. Known internationally for his work as the last trumpet player with the iconic GURU’s JAZZMATAZZ, Brownman is a GRAMMY Award long-lister and multiple JUNO Award nominee. “We love taking classic jazz repertoire and re-imagining them through the electric-jazz lens”, states Brownman, “as if it were written today and produced by someone like DJ Premier or Flying Lotus.
